VCU

Which tractor functions can I control with the VCU?

To control machine functions via the VCU, both the VCU and the tractor must have the corresponding functionality enabled within ISOBUS TIM. The VCU is capable of controlling steering, ground speed, hitch height (front/rear), PTO (front/rear), and hydraulic valves. Depending on the tractor’s specifications, all or a selection of these functions can be automated to execute pre-planned tasks.

Is a driver still needed?

Correct. A operator must start the task and supervise the process and ensure safety. Under all circumstances the operator must be present inside the cabin when the VCU is connected. The operator remains in charge and must be alert and in complete control of the machine at all times.

Can I use the VCU with any vehicle?

The VCU interacts with the machine via the ISOBUS TIM standard. Consequently, this functionality must be available and activated on the tractor. To verify if your tractor is compliant with this standard contact your dealer or/and check your vehicle in the AEF Database, which lists all ISOBUS TIM vehicles.
